Digital Superwoman: Stress Behaviours of Perinatal Black Women Online -- Under Review
With Black women facing proportionately worse health outcomes during and after pregnancy, innovations in digital mental health provide an avenue to support their mental wellbeing. In particular, social media is a prominent tool used by Black perinatal women for mental health. Given this, it follows that social platforms can offer insights about how this population expresses and copes with stress. This project explores how Black women share about stress and demonstrate coping strategies by analysing their online posts and scores on mental health metrics, and engages with the Superwoman Schema as a grounding framework to understanding observed patterns.
